From box to ceiling.
Three short films from American Tin Ceilings: a kitchen backsplash, a nail-up ceiling and the SnapLock system. Each loads only when you press play.
A tin splashback.
Measure the wall
Work out the area and choose a small-repeat pattern, such as No. 3, so the design is not cut off at the edges.
Cut to fit
Mark sockets and edges and trim the panels with tin snips.
Fix and finish
Fix the panels to the wall and finish the edges with trim.
Onto a solid ceiling.
Prepare a substrate
Nail-up panels need a solid, flat surface to fix into.
Start from the centre
Find the centre of the room and lay out from there so the pattern sits evenly.
Fill the edges
Use filler panels and cornice to finish the perimeter cleanly.
Panels that click together.
The SnapLock system fixes panels without a solid substrate. Ask Sid whether SnapLock is available for your project in South Africa.
Ask before you order.
Send Sid a photo of the room and the ceiling height. He’ll tell you which panels and fixing suit the space.
Want tin overhead? Start with a sample.
Tell Sid the room and the look. He’ll come back with patterns, finishes and a quote.
